Condensate removal may not be the sexiest topic but since we’re entering cooling season, it’s a good idea to check in on the solutions recommended by our Able sales team. These Little Giant products install easily and operate flawlessly, making them perfect for any application.
We’re going to kick things off with an introduction to some models from Little Giant’s EC Series. These are designed to be incorporated into single-zone and multi-zone mini split applications. Of course, if you’ve been paying attention lately, you know that now is the best time for homeowners to make the switch to a Fujitsu ductless mini split system since Able is working with ComEd to make their utility rebates into instant rebates.
If you’re going to be installing a state-of-the-art high-efficiency mini split system, you want to make sure that everything is protected, and it’s never easier to do than with a Little Giant pump.
We carry a pair of condensate pumps designed specifically for mini splits, the first of which being the EC-OP-K. This model is the picture of reliability. It offers quiet protection and can be easily added to an existing system. This is because the EC-OP-K installs outside of unit with its own discreet cover and mounting bracket. This pump requires a 230V input and provides 3 GPH performance at a head of six feet.
If you’re looking for a more flexible option, the EC-1-DV will be right up your alley. This is a two-piece pump that can handle a wide range of electrical requirements. The EC-1-DV can be run off a voltage of either 115V or 230V. The multi-part design also affords you a lot of leeway in terms of installation. It can be installed above the unit in the ceiling, behind the unit, or in the lineset channel.
Condensers (& Condensing Equipment)
If your application requires a bit more power, then these next two options are perfect. Designed for use with split condensers and other large-scale refrigeration and dehumidification equipment, the VCMA-20 and VCC-20 bring a lot of power in a little package. They can also be used inside high-efficiency condensing heating equipment such as the Ultimate 9700 from Napoleon or an NTI TRX boiler.
Both pumps run off 115V power supply and provide 70 GPH performance when installed with a head of five feet. The VCC-20 is the more svelte of the pair. Its low-profile design is perfect for installation where every inch counts. If you’ve got some extra room and aren’t shy about using it, the VCMA-20 brings a half-gallon tank to the party. Both models are equipped with an overflow detection switch to provide another layer of safety.
