Chicagoland Steam Humidification by Honeywell

In the past, we’ve covered the difficulties surrounding steam humidification in the Chicagoland area. The low conductivity of Lake Michigan water means that standard, out-of-the box steam humidification options can struggle to produce the desired conditions. Previously, our only option was GeneralAire. Their products are still a great option, but now you have a second choice. Honeywell has released a new steam humidifier with a low-conductivity cylinder. To learn more about this new steam humidification solution, just keep reading!

***NOTE: Steam humidification is one of the topics being covered at this month’s Honeywell training classes. If you’d like to learn more, you can RSVP at http://www.abledistributors.com/events.***

Features & Advantages

There’s a lot to love about the HM750 package. In addition to the unit itself and the low-conductivity cylinder, you also receive a control and two mounting options. The H6062 HumidPRO control is compatible with Honeywell smart thermostats and can be connected to Honeywell’s Lyric or RedLINK smartphone apps. In addition to offering remote control, the HumidPRO can also be set to automatically adjust humidity levels and it features a Humidity Boost button for quick adjustments.

We already know that the HM750 comes with two mounting options but the biggest difference maker when it comes to ease of installation is probably the cabinet itself. Honeywell has successfully fit a robust, low-conductivity steam humidifier into the smallest cabinet on the market: 17″ H x 10″ W x 7″ D. With those dimensions, you’ll be hard pressed to find a place that you can’t install an HM750.

The HM750 can be run at either 120v or 240v depending on your humidification needs. It produces 11 GPD at 120v and 22 GPD at 240v. The HM750 also features push-in wiring terminals to simplify installation. Maintenance is just as easy thanks to the hinge-mounted cannsiter that can be quickly swapped out when the time comes.

The Competition

Below is a breakdown of how the HM750 compares to GeneralAire’s options. All of these models will do a great job keeping your clients comfortable, so it comes down to preference. If price is the only thing that the homeowners cares about, the GenAire models are a great choice. If connectivity and convenience are a concern, the HM750 has a lot to offer. If you have any questions about how these units stack up, don’t hesitate to ask your salesperson for some advice!

If you want a hands-on look at the HM750 guided by a Honeywell professional, you’re in luck. Steam humidification is on the agenda for this month’s Honeywell training classes. You can RSVP right now at http://www.abledistributors.com/events.
