New Multi-Zone Options from Fujitsu

When it comes to Fujitsu, the hits just keep coming. We have more exciting news hot on the heels of our announcement that Able Distributors will be hosting a pair of Fujitsu’s F.A.S.T. classes and participating in the HIGH 5 rebate program. In mid-May, Fujitsu will be launching two new multi-zone outdoor condensers and they will be available for order from Able shortly. Below, you’ll find a brief rundown of both new products as well as Fujitsu’s updated multi-zone brochure.

Five Zones, No Branch Box

The AOU45RLXFZ mini split outdoor condenser is Fujitsu’s largest multi-zone condenser that does not require a branch box. This 45,000 BTU model features five sets of connections to support five directly-connected mini split indoor units. As with all Fujitsu products, energy efficiency is a major selling point. Depending on the mix of indoor units, an AOU45RLXFZ system will see a SEER rating between 17.7 to 19.7 and an HSPF rating between 9.3 and 10.3.

Another common feature of Fujitsu multi-zone condensers that carries over to the AOU45RLXFZ is their connectable capacity of 130%. This allows for systems where the sum capacities of the indoor units exceed the capacity of the outdoor unit. For example, you could use three 18,000 BTU units with this condenser. The condenser won’t provide more than 45,000 BTU, but as long as all three zones aren’t producing a simultaneous demand, any two zones can operate at 18,000 BTU. With a 100% connectable capacity, you could only get 15,000 BTU units in those rooms.

A New XLTH Option

Fujitsu is also doubling down on their multi-zone extra-low temperature heating options. We recently covered the AOU18RLXFZH and AOU24RLXFZH, but now they are joined by a larger model: the AOU36RLXFZH.

This 36,000 BTU four-zone model maintains 100% of its rated heating capacity at five degrees Fahrenheit and supports heating operations down to -15 degrees Fahrenheit, where it still provides 61% of the nominal capacity. It accomplishes all this without compromising efficiency; AOU36RLXFZH systems can expect SEER rating in the range of 18.0 to 20.0 and HSPF ratings between 9.3 and 10.3.

With these two products, Fujitsu has provided dozens of additional system configurations. This makes it easier than ever to design a Fujitsu mini split system to suit the exact specifications of your clients’ applications. The AOU45RLXFZ and AOU36RLXFZH will be available for purchase from Able Distributors in May and shipments from the factory begin in mid-May.
